The Ballroom Apartment (2B) is located in the original T & G (Temperance & General) . “The Dome” is now the name this building is known by and the apartment is on the second floor, originally the first floor. Erected in 1936 the iconic building was a symbol of the gradual recovery from the great depression in the early 1930’s and the February, 1931 earthquake which destroyed the surrounding areas and the city of Napier. After its construction the beautiful copper dome turned green as copper does, it was unfortunately painted over several years later.
Inside the building were professional offices the most prestigious location in town, including the Manhattan milk bar, a beauty salon, NZ Railways Services offices and The Woman’s Club. On the first floor was the “Silver Slipper” cabaret. Today we present an apartment which is graciously furbished with two spacious bedrooms, two bathrooms. one with a bath, fully equipped kitchen and laundry facilities. The apartment was originally the “Silver Slipper Cabaret” is now named the Ballroom Apartment.
The locale being in the heart of Napier right on the Marine Parade overlooking the sea, surrounded by restaurants, cafes and shopping. This makes it a very easy walk to experience some great epicurean treats and easy shopping. With only a 10 -15 minute drive to Napier Airport we can arrange pick up and return to the Airport or it is short taxi ride. Our apartment accommodation gives you an independent stay, play and relax feel, teamed with the ability to book an exclusive tour of the region with an experienced guide including door to door service.
